Good News from the BCDA Advice Team
This month, our Senior Welfare Rights & Advocacy Worker, Marie McCallin, was successful in appealing a client’s PIP application, securing nearly £40,000 in additional payments for him. The appeal was originally launched in February 2019, but due to the pandemic it was only heard in August 2023. The appeal was successful, with the client awarded a back payment of £25,000 …

BCDA Advice Team Updates
In the year 2022/23 our Senior Welfare Rights and Advocacy Worker Marie McCallin worked with 1700 clients at Ballynafeigh Community Development Association and our 9 Outreach Centres. Marie assisted these clients with a variety of benefits and welfare inquiries, including Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance, and Universal Credit forms, among others. Seniors Chair-Based Activity
This year our seniors have been taking part in a chair-based yoga and physical activity workshop every Tuesday morning from 11am-12pm. The ladies have been learning about different yoga poses, improving their balance, incorporating some physical activity into their week, and connecting with each other!
