This month, our Senior Welfare Rights & Advocacy Worker, Marie McCallin, was successful in appealing a client’s PIP application, securing nearly £40,000 in additional payments for him.
The appeal was originally launched in February 2019, but due to the pandemic it was only heard in August 2023. The appeal was successful, with the client awarded a back payment of £25,000 as well as additional annual payments of £8983 worth of PIP, and £4680 in Universal Credit.
This will give the client a big boost to his income, providing him with peace of mind and having a huge positive impact on both his physical and mental health.
