Summer Scheme

Our Summer Scheme is running from Monday 17th July to Thursday 3rd August this year, with 1 family trip each week and 3 in house sessions where the kids will get a chance to get creative with Lego Technic, Lego mosaics, Clayrazy, and much more!

Our family trips will be on the 3 Mondays, with a trip to Newcastle on the 17th July, to Bangor on the 24th, and to Carnfunnock Country Park on 31st July. The in-house sessions will be from 10am – 12pm on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

We Love Where We Live Week

As well as the Summer Scheme We Also Have our We Love Where We Live week running from the 18th to the 21st July. This will be a whole week full of activities and workshops celebrating the Ballynafeigh area, and we hope there will be something in it for everyone!

Tuesday 18th July

Ballynafeigh Walking Tours

11am & 7pm – meeting outside the front of BCDA (283 Ormeau Road)

As part of our summer programme we will have two walking tours of the Ballynafeigh area with Rory’s Tours NI, an experienced tour guide who is guaranteed to make you see something different in the area, even if you have lived here for many years!

Wednesday 19th July

Ballynafeigh Cultural Evening

4pm – 7pm

As part of our summer programme at BCDA we are hosting a cultural evening to celebrate the diverse backgrounds in our neighbourhood, and learn a little bit more about each other!

We will be hosting a Small Worlds workshop, giving the opportunity from people from different cultures to tell their stories and promote empathy and understanding.

We will also have a variety of free food and drink, as well as African drumming, and lots of opportunities to get to know your neighbours as well as the BCDA staff!

Wednesday 19th July

Men’s Shed Taster Event

11am – 6pm – meeting at BCDA (283 Ormeau Road)

Our regular Men’s Shed runs four days a week, and is an invaluable opportunity for men to come together and improve their physical and mental health while also making new friends. This fishing trip will give others a chance to get a taste of what our Men’s Shed is like!

Thursday 20th July

Intergenerational Craft

1 – 3pm

As part of our summer programme we will have an Intergenerational Craft afternoon, with the opportunity for young people, seniors, and everyone in between, to come together and spend time with people outside of their usual circle!

Friday 21st July

Seniors Summer Tea Dance

11am – 2pm – at Annadale Community Centre (off Delhi Parade)

Seniors Summer Tea Dance at Annadale Community Centre with food & drink, and entertainment from Rosie Hunter!
