On Friday the 28th October, Ballynafeigh Community Development Association’s Health and Wellbeing team gave out 15 vegetable boxes to vulnerable individuals and families in the area! Through our own referrals, as well as outreach from our partner organisations SureStart and Belfast City of Sanctuary, we were able to help out some of those most in need in our community.
With the vegetable boxes containing things such as potatoes, broccoli, carrots, grapes, apples, oranges, and ingredients for soup, we were able to ensure that these families would be able to provide hearty and nutritious meals for themselves over the weekend.
We will be doing a bigger campaign on the lead up to Christmas, as many will continue to struggle with the cost of living as the days get colder and darker.
Big thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund for funding and to Whittens Fruit & Veg for providing the veg boxes!
