Ballynafeigh Community Development Association has been running for 40 years and is a multi- purpose resource centre which works to support the Ballynafeigh neighbourhood. Ballynafeigh is one of the longest surving shared neighbourhoods in Belfast, comprising of people from different social, religious and ethnic backgrounds. BCDA acts as an advocate for shared communities by working with local people, groups and neighbouring communities to overcome suspicion and sectarianism, to promote mutual understanding, cooperation and where appropriate a partnership approach to joint action on areas of common concern.

BCDA’s vision is of a ‘vibrant and diverse neighbourhood with a generous spirit supported by a dynamic community association which acts as a catalyst for social change and development’

The Association’s ethos strives to be enabling, empowering, supportive and outward-looking:-

enabling by sharing knowledge and skills to enable people and groups toarticulate their needs and decide actions to address them;

empowering by advancing solutions that people and groups have identified for themselves, irrespective of whether the solution is being sought through self-help or statutory means;

supportive by promoting teamwork and encouraging creativity and personal effectiveness; and finally

outward-looking by advancing an open and progressive outlook on life, communities and cultures and promoting our shared neighbourhood practice.
