During the year we received a much needed grant from the Ormeau Credit Union which enabled us to carry on working with this age group of residents. The group comprised of 35 seniors aged between 52 and 95 years. During the renovation of the building the group met on a Thursday afternoon in the Ormeau bowling pavilion. Activities for this ever increasing group included, armchair aerobics, boccie, mindfulness, storytelling, arts and crafts, dancing and outings to various venues including a visit to the nostalgic Tudor Cinema in Comber as well as various tea dances. This wide range of activities has helped address the many issues experienced by this age group, most specifically loneliness and a sense of belonging.
