A couple of weeks ago Katie came down and we discussed what we believed the mural should represent. We spoke to many people who make up our Ballynafeigh community so this mural would mean something to all of us.
The feedback we received from our valued members was that it needs to be colourful and showcase elements which contribute to our community like music and family. The overwhelming sentiment was the mural had to illustrate that BCDA is a home away from home.
Our feeling is this has been executed excellently and we are so happy to have this on our building as it creatively captures our values of inclusion and respect we are proud of. Our hope is that anyone who passes the mural we will able to recognise that we welcome everyone into our community with open arms.
The process from start to finish helps to show all the amazing details included which we hope will put a smile on all of your faces every time you pass our building because we know it does for us.
It has been completed just in time for our special day this Saturday so keep an eye out whenever you are on the road and see if you can spot all the details representing our sense of community spirit
It is a perfect way for us to commemorate our 50th anniversary and it will be here for years to come!
